So after 4 intense days of SATs papers, we are happy to see the back of exams!
After a lot of preparation and mindfulness coping strategies, Year 6 students sat down on Monday to complete their Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar exam paper. Spellings were hard. After, the reward was a trip to the swimming baths! On Tuesday was the dreaded reading paper. Students remained calm and focused, with students using the full time given. Their reward was a trip to the much loved Laser Quest where students released some energy and battled with their lasers. Wednesday was a tough day with 2 maths papers; arithmetic followed by the first reasoning paper. After the gruelling papers, students were rewarded with mini-golf and lunch at the golf restaurant. Thursday welcomed the last of the reasoning papers and the last exam of the SATs before we headed down to King Edward’s Beach in Cullercoats for some beach games. Students joined and played together in the sand.
We are very impressed with our students, with their resilience and calm attitude we are very proud.
