GCSE pathway students have started to explore different artists and produce a personal response to their work. GCSE Art, craft and design and GCSE Textiles students research artists to inform their work and make decisions about their own. They use the inspiration they find to create artists pieces in a variety of different Medias. Textiles student Harvey has started to explore different wall hangings for a piece inspired by natural forms. He has used printing techniques to print his own fabrics from his own observational drawing.

Art, Craft and Design student Matty has been exploring abstract art and creating abstract pieces based on the artists Hannah Hock and John Hoyland.

Matty: “The best part about this theme is I can be creative and free”

Harvey: “I have not been studying textiles very long but I love printing because it is quick and easy.”
