Trinity Academy Newcastle and Newcastle City Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.We therefore ask all candidates to complete a Safe Recruitment form when applying for any position at Trinity Academy Newcastle.

Candidates must disclose details of any non protected convictions, cautions, warnings or reprimands they may have. The amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected' and are not subject to disclosure to employers, and cannot be taken into account.

When invited for interview, candidates are assesed on:

Issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people including:

  • Motivation to work with children and young people;
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people;
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
  • Attitude to the use of authority and maintaining discipline.
