Last week students in the HUB researched and submitted their votes for the UK Youth Parliament.
The Youth Parliament gathers information from across the UK and raises the most prominent issues (voted for by 11 - 18 year olds across the country) when they attend the UK Youth Parliament House of Commons. It will be sitting in November. As well as researching key issues, the students were also able to explore and participate in the democratic process. It certainly promoted a great deal of debate!
Preserving and promoting mental health services for young people was the issue that stood out for our student group and it received the most votes overall. It was closely followedby reducing the voting age to 16 and making public transport cheaper, better and more accessible for young people.
Thankyouto everyone who took part!
