In Jessica’s Entry Level English Lessons, Supported Interns and Project Choice collaborated to create an alphabet for 2020. Learners listed the letters of the alphabet in the correct order, correcting each other where necessary, and then chose words that reflected their experiences of 2020.
This enabled all three classes to reflect upon their memories of, and feelings towards, life in lockdown. Learners demonstrated empathy when listening and responding to their peers and it felt as though a community was formed through our sharing practices.
We transformed our alphabets into word clouds shaped like face masks.
