Learners who have learning difficulties and / or disabilities (LLDD) are provided with a study programme which gives valuable skills in preparation for adulthood. Bespoke programmes are tailor made to meet the individual needs and aspirations of each learner. Trinity Academy works in conjunction with Capability’s and Natures Landscapes to provide a work based vocational programme of study for learners with learning difficulties and or disabilities.
Capability’s is based on Heaton Road, Byker, Newcastle. It is a two storey building which has been adapted to make it accessible to any one, regardless of their disability. Within the building they run a coffee shop and print studio and offer the services of these two businesses to the local community offering real, invaluable work life skills. Included in this is the opportunity to achieve an NCFE qualification to develop customer service, administration, I.T. health & safety and relationships at work.
Nature's Landscapes is based in Newburn and gives a grounds maintenance and landscaping service for the local authority. Training includes the chance to take part in NPTC accredited qualifications in the safe use and maintenance of lawnmowers, brush cutters and hedge trimmers, and the opportunity to complete Emergency First Aid and COSSH training.
