Course Description

The BSC Level 1 award is for people who currently work, or want to work, in construction. This award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification is for candidates wishing to apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme Green Card.

The CSCS Green Card is intended for those working in labouring occupations only. Achievement of this award will demonstrate the applicant's understanding of key issues affecting safe working practises on UK construction sites.

Importance, key terms, legal responsibilities and reasons for good health and safety Working at height Electricity Reporting accidents and ill health
Fatalities, injuries and ill-health in construction Moving vehicles and mobile plant Manual Handling Emergencies and first aid
Risk assessments and method statements Work equipment Noise Welfare facilities and personal hygiene

Hazardous substance, alcohol, drugs, health and safety signs, personal protective equipment.
